World famous artists who created panoramas A panorama is a description or a set of pictures that show all the different aspects of a particular event or subject. It presents an unbroken view of an entire surrounding area. It is any wide angle view or representation of a physical space, be it in drawing, painting, photography, film or any three dimensional model. Panorama art could not have been discovered without the help of some artist who contributed immensely to making it a reality.

One of the panorama pioneers  was an Irish painter Robert Baker (1739-1806). He invented the word panorama which was used to describe the panoramic paintings of Edinburgh. They were mostly shown on a surface that was cylindrical, that he was Showing in London as “The Panorama”. He made his fortune in the year 1793 when he shifted his panoramas to the world’s first purpose-built panorama building, in Leicester Square. This accomplishment also included manipulations that were sophisticated  in the perspective that was not encountered by the panorama’s predecessors. The wide-angle prospect of the city familiar since the sixteenth century.

Henry Willem Mesdag who was a Dutch marine painter created and established what is known as Panorama Mesdag of Hague in Netherlands, in the year 1881. It was a painting that was cylindrical which was more than fourteen meters in height and approximately forty meters in diameter. Arpad Feszty  was a famous Hungarian painter that mostly painted some scenes from the Hungarian religion and history. The Arrival of the citizens of Hungary is one of his most renowned works and is usually referred to as Feszty Panorama. In the year 1891, he encountered a panoramic work by Neuville and Detaille in paris and he got an idea at first, that was to paint the biblical flood in a manner that was similar. However, on the advice of his father-in-law, who was also a famous Hungarian writer by the name Mor Jokai, he painted what was called Arrival of Hungarians.

Feszty got a contract to paint and do the mounting of the panorama in a period of two years. It was definitely physically impossible for him to paint a whole surface alon due to its size, he therefore chose many artists to assist him on this work.

In the field of panoramic photography was Bostjan Burger born in the year 1966. He was a Slovenian geographer, informatician, a speleologist, panoramic and and a VR panoramic photographer . He frequently used panoramas as tools in the research of landscapes. He is also credited with capturing the famous and exotic sceneries of the Slovenian caves. The Nova Krizna Jama was realized a few years back and only a few scientists have actually entered it. Andrew Nemeth is another veteran of the quick time VR.
