If you are going to shoot for a panorama photograph, you should plan the shot’s sequence. You are going to shoot multiple images in sequence and it should be perfect. There is nothing wrong with doing some test shots initially. Doing so will help you decide on how are you going to do all the photo shots. It is also advisable to start shooting from the left side of the scenery to the right portion of it. Either way is fine but the purpose of shooting them from left to right is to create a more sensible image when you are viewing all of the photograph on the computer.

Overlapping of the taken photos is also a must. With a large overlap on the photos, it will be much easier to edit and stitch all the photos. With wide angle lens, the  sides of the photos are usually distorted. There are noticeable dark corners which is difficult to refine if you only gave a little overlapping percentage. With 30-50% overlap, you can easily edit and refine the images upon stitching.

Acquired from different professional photographers, it is recommended that you shoot your photos in a portrait position. It will definitely result in taking a lot of overlapping photos, but it will increase the vertical view of your panorama by 50%. As you took photos, you should try to keep it as horizontal as possible. Meaning, you have to keep the middle of your lens to the horizon of range. For some camera, there is a grid line option. If your camera has this option, you can turn it on so you can see several horizontal and vertical lines that will serve as your guide on shooting the photos and estimating the overlaps. If you have a tripod, use it. The tripod will help you achieve wonderful and properly lined up images. You will be 100% sure that the photos are all in one plane. Make sure that the tripod is properly set up on the exact photo shoot range.

When the photos are already okay for stitching, you can start doing the stitching process on your image editing software. Some camera have the stitching feature wherein the camera will do the work and just provide you the stitched panoramic photography. However in some cases, you will do the stitching manually on the computer. The photos should be properly matched and aligned, and the image color should be blended perfectly. The challenge of image stitching is all in the technique used in shooting the photos. Stitched panoramic photography can be done even by the non-professionals, provided that they know the basic rules on shooting the images.

night mode, high shutter speed with a flash is highly recommended to produce wonderful photographs. If

it is a broad daylight, setting up the aperture speed is needed. When shooting during the daylight,

camera usually uses low exposure to balance it on too much light. The Canon G1 usually use a very low

exposure level, therefore, it produces dark photos. Setting up the aperture size manually is definitely

a must if you want good results.

Since your camera is all set-up for the panoramic photo shoot, you can proceed with doing a few test

One of the panorama pioneers  was an Irish painter Robert Baker (1739-1806). He invented the word panorama which was used to describe the panoramic paintings of Edinburgh. History of the Velaslavasay Panorama

The Velaslavasay Panorama began in 2001 at the Tswuun-Tswuun Rotunda in Hollywood. Since then it has grown in popularity due to the art and the events. Its main feature was the 360 degree Panorama of the Valley of the Smokes which was breath-taking. The magnificent garden area and the Avian Alcove added to the attraction for people who appreciate culture.

The Tswuun-Tswuun Rotunda was built in 1968 in the courtyard of a destroyed Tenement House and bears resemblance to the Great Panorama Rotundas of the 19th century. Since then the Tswuun-Tswuun Rotunda has seen everything- from a Korean SH BBQ, a Pizza restaurant, an ice cream parlour, an Armenian bakery and a travel agency as well.

Unfortunately, the Tswuun-Tswuun Rotunda no longer exists and even the surrounding greenery is gone with it. But it still lives in the memories of those who were a witness to it. The Velaslavasay Panorama was proud to exist amongst a Boulevard known for its landmarks as the extravagant location for Egyptian and Chinese theatres.

Its gardens had been the bearer and witness to various events and social gatherings as the variety of flora in the garden such as aged palms, snow-white rose bushes, and banana trees provided a calming effect to all those present. All these have been transplanted to the Union Theatre, the current location.

The Avian Alcove first featured in 2002 as Hollywood’s first-ever Living Diorama as it displayed the tropical world filled with its exotic flora and fauna. The location doubled as a photography studio as visitors could have their photos taken as the Avian Alcove became a part of the exhibit.

The exhibit has also highlighted the local parrot inhabitants and a portrait was also painted of North America’s native parrot species. This species- The Carolina Parakeet met its extinction, sadly in 1918. The Avian Alcove is remembered as a blend of the horticulture, vegetation and the local handicrafts.

However, the major attraction was the Panorama of the Valley of the Smokes which showed what California’s Southland would have looked like almost 200 years ago.
