Famous panoramic photographers

Panoramic photography is a method of photography which uses special kind of software or equipment to capture images. The images normally have elongated fields of view. It is also known as wide format photography. Josh Puchberger submitted what was one of the first recorded patents for a panoramic camera in Austria in 1843.  In the following year, a more successful panoramic camera was put together by Friedrich von Martens in Germany. It was technically superior. Ken Duncan is an Australian photographer who was born in 1954. He is famous for his landscape photography of Australia. Growing up, he spent his early life in country towns and developed an interest in photography as a teenager. His interest in panoramic photography began when the company he was working for imported the Widelux camera. It had the ability to produce panoramic shots. He then left Sydney in 1982 travelling around Australia photographing its landscapes. John Conforth is a talented and award winning panoramic photographer. He is well known for shooting landscapes that are in their natural environment.  Sam Burns provides some fresh and creative panoramic images from Australia.

 

Jaspal Jandu, a British native, is a leading panoramic photographer with an incredible eye for detail. He has a special leaning towards natural phenomena and the environment as well.  He is also very committed to upholding the highest level of quality. Another creative and talented photographer is David Burdeny. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada in 1968. An interior design degree holder and with a masters in architecture, he started photographing at the age of twelve. He would normally take photographs of the prairie landscape and use his bedroom closet as a makeshift darkroom to process the black and white photographs. David purposely photographs in poor lighting and near areas that are dark. The images he captures as described as beautiful, ominous, haunting and meditative. His work is stylistically influenced by such artists as Michael Kenna and Hiroshi Sugimoto. He usually uses the technique of unusual long exposure to bring to viewing that which the eye cannot see.

 

Michael Hruby never knew that a simple request to take photographs of his new born baby girl would fire up his passion for photography ten years ago. After saving up and purchasing a Linhof Technorama 617 film panoramic format camera, he set out to become a landscape photographer.  Residing on the central coast of New South Wales provided him with the perfect backdrop to capture spectacular images. He uses both digital and film when trying to create the perfect photo. Brian Kosoff is a nature photographer who after a long and successful career in still life photography set out to produce pictures that were more self expressive. The scenes in nature in the landscapes he produces have a feel of perfection and that sense of being untouched. They are also serene. He is known to render his images with a romantic and a kind of mystical feeling through the way he interprets them in his dark room. These and many other artist have played a significant role in creating timeless beauty through panoramic photographs.
